Patyk Museum
In 2023, artist’s wife Romana Vasylyna made a generous gift to the people of Ukraine, having donated about 100 paintings and graphic works, sketches, archives as well as painter’s personal possessions. Thus, this collection laid the foundation for the new Museum that was opened on Independence Day, 2024, in the old villa at 4 Mateika Street which, in the early 20th century, belonged to the famous Leon Piniński who, apart from his personal virtues, had an outstanding art collection.
The first hall is dedicated to Lviv; the second hall is a complex reflection on the history of Ukraine and the world; the third hall is a kaleidoscope of journeys; and there is a separate space that tells Volodymyr Patyk’s biography, walks viewers through the art environment of Lviv in the 1960s and 1970s and the most important place for the artist – the Studio.
